2005 Mayoral and Council Member Survey

Our first Mayoral and Council Survey was developed to help La Crosse residents learn more about the candidates for Mayor and City Council prior to the February primary election. It asks 15 questions – some multi-part - about neighborhood issues, taxes, development, transportation as well as candidate's experience and positions.

Livable Neighborhoods does not endorse or disapprove of any of the candidates; however we do have positions on a number of the issues, including those in our survey. We hope the questions, and more importantly the answers, assist candidates and the public in their decisions regarding the future of our beautiful community.

All responses are quoted without summary, editing or editorializing. All responses that were:

·         sent electronically were merged into the questionnaire so the reader has the answers with questions.

·         computer printed were scanned with OCR software and also merged into the questionnaire.

·         handwritten on the original questionnaire were scanned as is or if time permitted, transcribed and merged into the questionnaire.

All of the responses have been converted to Adobe Acrobat Reader for ease in sharing (You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to review all the responses) and posted to our Internet site www.livable-neighborhoods.org.

We have also printed hardcopies and sent them to the Reference Desk of the La Crosse Library at 800 Main St, the North Branch Library at 1552 Kane St and the South Branch Library at 1307 16th St.

Our thanks to all the candidates for their willingness to serve!
